Back To School Time - Savings

Go Back To School and Save Money Literally!

It's back to school time. Hooray! It's about time, right?
So here is what you need to learn from your kids!

KEY: Teacher=one of your kids depending on each kid's specialty.

Back To School - Math The Savings Angles

Subject: Math -- Back to School Savings:

*Are you making too much of a recipe because you do not know how to half the ingredients, or are you  making too little because you can not properly double or make a batch and a half (YIKES!!)?  Have your Math Teacher teach you fractions and measurements.  Save money by making the right amount of food correctly!

*Do you have a working budget and putting savings back each month?  If not, have your Math Teacher show you how to graph your incoming assets versus your outgoing bills.  Include everything. This will show you where you can save money.

Subject: Science -- Back to School Savings:

Plants and vegetation--Have your teacher school you in the science of plants. Tomatoes are one of the easiest plants to grow (doesn't take much space either).  You will learn that one plant yields many tomatoes.  A couple of plants and you won't have to buy tomatoes for months!  Don't forget to branch out!

Subject: Art -- Back to School Savings:

*Make cheap, but original decorations for the house.  Also make gifts, instead of buying.
*A great way to stimulate the brain.  Staying healthy is a huge money saver.

Back To School Time - The Art Of Saving

Top 5 Ways To Become A Teacher's Pet

*Raise your hand often (to answer a question, not to get a drink of water).

*Listen intently with a bright, shining smile on your face!

*Volunteer a lot!!! To help grade papers, clean erasers, etc.

*Bring in the Teacher gummy bears!

*Let the Teacher stay up past 9:00 pm on a school night!

Subject: Music:

Not really a money saver, but we heard you sing with the windows down.
Please ask your music teacher to help!!!!

Subject: Physical Education -- Back to School Savings:

*Savings $$--No need for a gym membership!  Remember when we were kids running around the yard, bicycling through the neighborhood, or jumping rope? We called it play and we could do it all day long. Now that we're adults we call runningbicycling, and jumping "working-out" and we find any excuse to avoid it.  But Exercise doesn't have to mean countless, grueling hours in the gym.... to read the rest click our website article on Exercise Motivation For Those Who Hate The Gym

Subject: Vocabulary -- Back to School Savings:

*Have your English Teacher open up a whole new world with Vocabulary!  Your creative writing will soar to a new zenith!  Also, no need to cuss which makes an uneasy situation even more tense.  Get imaginative in your frustration and all might end up laughing! Savings:  Your increased knowledge of words will help you become a Jeopardy contestant earning you at least $1,000!!!

*A better vocabulary = job promotion?  Dress to Success & Expound to Impress!

Back To School Time

Put Your Head Down On Your Desk & Be Quiet!

*Okay, this is suppose to be a punishment when the class has been unruly. Secret: the teacher wants to play video games that night and wants to grade your papers while at school.  Benefit:  this forced quiet time is a great stress reliever. Let your mind either wander to an exotic spot and have a mini-vacation, daydream or create!  Savings:  High stress = high medical bills.  Low stress = good health!

Social Causes:

*Kids --(oops I mean) Teachers always come home (er, to school) enthused about a social cause.  Why not get inspired too. Looking brightly at the future and making a difference is not just for those under 10.  If your teacher is hyped up about becoming ecologically responsible, join in.  This will greatly reduce your household cost.  Don't let the water run while brushing your teeth, use a water filter instead of plastic bottles, turn off all electricity when not in use, buy used instead of new (new to like new clothes for 50 cents to $1 at garage sales--this is not a myth), etc.  Going green means saving the big time green!

Cue the School Bell:

Now go out there and buy your notebooks why they are still a quarter and start learning/saving!  Soon you will have your college fund in the bank.

Best of luck in the school year!

  3. Thanks for the tips. I had to laugh at becoming the Teachers Pet. It used to be an apple on the desk and now it's Gummy Bears. How did you know that is my FAVE candy. If I was a teacher they would certainly put that child on my fav list. LOL
